As a biology teacher and environmentalist, I found this quote by Carl Sagan personally meaningful. Looking at the stars from my own little spot on Earth I feel small and if not insignificant, certainly less important in the great scheme of the universe. The stars around us are vastly distant. This quote reminded me how precious this Earth is to us all. It needs care and consideration from everyone. It is a message that is so important but so hard to spread to all humankind.
