Ilan Shamir is an author and keynote speaker. He changed his name from Scott Alyn to better reflect his passion for trees. His new name literally means ‘protector of the trees’. His passion for trees extends to nature in general and he has written prose reflecting tree advice, advice from rivers, tree celebrations and simple wisdom. The majesty of trees and their steadfast nature emanates from this poem of advice from a tree. I think we could all learn a thing or two from them!
