This week’s quiz is a little weak on science but does pay tribute to New Year celebration traditions. The New Year is celebrated around the world, not always in the same way and not always on the same date. Many of the traditions I believe go back to our early fears. Many rituals bring a sense of order to a sometimes scary world and scare away demons – real or imagined! For many of us, the New Year is a way to start over and make new resolutions. I guess in a way, we are bringing order back to our lives – getting our goals back in line to make better sense of our place in this world. So grab a cocktail, or cup of brew, sit back and see how well you know New Year traditions and lore from around the world.
