I caught these two in a quiet moment enjoying each other’s company.  Even though Tuck is my youngest son’s dog, Tuck takes personal time with all of us but has a special bond with my middle son.  Jarod has an unusual patience with all of our animals and they respond in kind.  Friendships are to be treasured.  As we grow and our interests change, best friends can become more casual friends.

The love of a dog is a pure thing. He gives you a trust which is total. You must not betray it. — Michel Houellebecq

Sometimes we lose touch with those we spent so much time with as our interests change and we move on to new experiences in school and in work.  Our canine friends seem to that one constant.  Our changing interests never seem to exclude our friendships with our dogs. Jarod will be moving on to schooling in a another town but when he comes home to visit, Tuck will be there waiting for a simple stroke or cuddle on the floor.
