Ecology looks at the interactions between organisms and their non-living environment. Changes in either the living or non-living components of any ecosystem can have dramatic effects. Climate changes being experienced in our lifetime are due to ecological changes both natural and human-caused. Knowledge of ecological processes is key to slowing many of the adverse changes being experienced on Earth from global warming to rapid extinction of many organisms. Try your hand at this ecology quiz and see if you could be part of the “Save the Earth Brigade!”
